1. M3GAN

Legitimately funny and surprisingly dark, this is a story of grieving and motherhood gone wrong. Also, we have a new creepy doll in town.

Back away, Chucky!

2. Infinite Pool

Solid movie, with twists and turns that are both innerving and entertaining. It also has Mia Goth in it.

A rara moment of quietness

3. Talk to Me

This is a terrifying and dark story of possession. Great screenplay, great acting, all around well-made horror for the ages.

Actually, don’t talk to me

4. Attachment

A very unique possession movie with a little bit of romance (and its downside) and also an interesting plot twist. Attachment at its worst!

Good examples of bad attachment styles

5. When Evil Lurks

Engaging, fully realized and creepy! This is a possession story in a larger scale, grounded in a specific and obscure lore.

Good boy!

6. No One Will Save You

A pretty ambitious movie that kind of pull it off. Alien invasion movie about forgiveness, grieving, trauma and all that good stuff.

Double take!

7. Beau is Afraid

Dark comedy about emasculated man incapable of making real choices. I guess it’s about me. And I am also afraid.

This guy’s father is a dick, literally

8. Thanksgiving

A little slow at the beginning and the whodunit aspect is a bit meh. But it was overall stupid, great fun. We need well-made, silly old horror movies.

Oh no, he’s behind me, isn’t him?

9. Perpetrator

A positively odd movie with loads of interesting ideas and imagery, and a body-horror quality.

Monthly blood

10. Enys Men

An internalized folk horror, dreamy, otherworldly, atemporal. This feels like a relic from the 70s.

Cult of one
